[SOLVED] Monitor 144hz without dp port

Hi

I have got a 144 hz monitor with only hdmi and dvi-d input and my gpu hasn't got dvi-d port, but only display ports and an hdmi.
I have searched on Amazon a converter but I couldn't find one because it sells only dp 1.1 that can't reach 144hz.
On other sites sell adapters that suits my situation but they are pretty expensive.
I have read in another topic this problem would be resolved if I had got a monitor with a dp port and connect it via dp-dp cable to gpu.
In your opinion is it better to buy an adapter or opt to change monitor?

HDMI-monitor and HMDI-GPU if you are on 1080p you can use HDMI 2.0 cable or higher do you play on i higher resolution?

i play with a resolution of 1920x1080, but my monitor hasn't got hdmi 2.0, it's a bit old.
