Upgrading GPU or other items?

Currently running -
i7-2600k sandy bridge at 4.0 ghz
16 gb of Corsair vengeance RAM DD3
Corsair AX850 power supple
p8p67 deluxe Asus motherboard
EVGA GeForce GTX780 SuperClocked w/EVGA ACX Cooler 3GB GDDR5

Noticing a few games lately saying I don't have the video memory needed to properly run them. Thinking about upgrading the GPU right now and the motherboard, CPU and RAM in that order during the year. I figure there will be bottlenecking, a lot, but it would be the biggest increase at the moment. Am I totally wrong here? And if I am not wrong, what card would be advisable? Thank you.

This really only depends on, how much you are willing to spend on GPU upgrade?

300-400 is the ideal range. Was looking on Amazon at a few, there are some 8 gb cards a little higher than that I could push for like - GIGABYTE GV-N107TWF2-8GD GeForce GTX 1070 Ti Windforce 8GB GDD - just not sure which would be the best for a 3-4 year build after I am done upgrading things.

I had looked at that before asking, I just wasn't sure if it was pointless to put a new card in with those components not upgraded.

You have enough of a power supply to install almost any GPU you want. You will get a dramatic increase in gaming by adding a modern GPU. You just won't get maxed out until you upgrade the other older components.
