hello friends, yesterday i just bought an abit an7 guru with a 512 module of ram from geil value ram (the one with the blue disipator). once i had installed all...i went towards the bios to give him a little of overclocking.the ram is at 2.65 vcore was at 1.75 and i set it to 1.780(next voltage was 1.815 i think,so was past 1.8 which is said to be the limit)and chipset was at 1.60 and set it at 1.65.as my processor is locked , i tried setting 150 fsb with ddram ratio auto.you may know what happened.there was no boot.i´m looking for ideas,so if any one has an input to help me with this little bastard i would be very pleased.

note:in my other mobo, a kudoz 7e, this procesor was not even stable at 138 fsb.hope this problem was due to mobo not to my 2100.

A 2100+ with a default Vcore of 1.75 is a Palomino Core. They don't overclock that well, sadly.

The 1.8V 'limit' you may have heard of is for the t-bred/barton chips, which all have default Vcore of around 1.6V, so in actual fact you'll be quite safe with 1.8V on your Chip. Even 1.9V would probably be ok, but keep an eye on the Temps.

Don't shoot straight for 150. Go up in small stages at a time (~5Mhz?).

Make sure your RAM is rated at least PC2700 (DDR 333), as otherwise you'll probably be pushing it beyond spec & you'll get problems there.

well...indeed i have proved with all combinations, even raising vcore to 1.820 and the system boots, but whenever the cpu goes to full load, the system crashes automatically.no problem of ram, because was set to auto, and the geil i have is ddr400 2.5 4 4 so setting to auto the ram speed is in ratio 1:1 with fsb.agp and pci are locked, and i have recently installed a gigabyte 3d rocket pro with 4300 rpm.system continues crashing.if at 400 it needs 2.65, i suppose at 280 (140 fsb at ddr ratio 1:1) there is no need for changing the voltage, and as de agp bus is locked at 66, no need to raise agp voltage.no need either to raise chipset voltage...so...this means that,it crashes ever.or is there any option of the bios that would be preventing me from being able to overclock.
any ideas??

i need opinions!!!!!!!!1

my 2100 sadly can only get up to 1.850Ghz :frown: , that's with 1.85Vcore, and RAM that will o/c on other systems to DDR414
