Problem l´ve never experienced before

hey everybody.

i built this system around the summer of last year

Phenom II X3 720 @3.4Ghz
4GB 1066 OCZ
GTX 275
and a Asus M4A78 PRO Mobo

I get no response from my pc after turning it on, it wont post. everything lights up but the cpu fan isnt at max speed, so i figured it was a mobo problem, so i just replaced the mobo battery and everything was working again.

the problem is the cmos battery keeps dying and the problem keeps coming back :(

it started to happen this year, right when mass effect 2 came out.

at first i thought it was just bad luck with batteries, but i´ve gone through about 4 with a few different brands.

each lasting about a month of use. I have no idea why this is happening and i´ve updated my bios to its latest version.

replacing the mobo is out of the question for now.... anybody have any insight in whats going on and how to fix it?

Check the standoffs, you might have a short between the mobo and the case.
