Hey there,

I was just wondering if anyone could recommend me a good gaming motherboard?

I will initially fit an intel core 2 duo E6600, but will later upgrade to an E8400.
I will be fitting a 260 GTX with 4GB of DDR2 1066.

I have a budget of around £120-£150 (about $200-$250).

I have been looking at the Asus P5N72-T Premium - Nvidia 780i, but 3-way SLI doesn't really appeal to me, so perhaps there is a better board suited to my needs?

I really appreciate any help you can give.

Thanks ^^

Do you require SLI? If not, then a Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R or GA-EP45-UD3P would be very good. If you need a more expensive motherboard, then the Asus P5Q-E or P5Q Deluxe (this one fits right into your budget) also are excellent motherboards.

Hey,

no, I don't really need SLI...uses too much power >.<

These boards look great, I love the look of the Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R, I found a DDR3 version of this board for the same price, and I was just wondering if this will still work with the setup I want, and if the DDR2 will work for now (So I have a few more options if I upgrade in the future)?

DDR3 version = http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?GIG-45...

Thanks so much for the recommendations! So much better then what I had in mind.

Differences between the DDR2 and DDR3 versions are minimal, but DDR2 memory costs less and the GA-EP45-UD3R offers better audio and Firewire (you probably don't care about it).

Ok, I will go with the DDR2 version

Thanks for your help ^^
