Willl this run games well enough, i was looking at an i5 but its a bit out of my price range

If budget won't stretch to i5, then the FX6300 is a reasonable, lower cost solution, certainly in the longer term. Few games, at the moment actually use multiple cores, but that will change, in the future. Whilst hardly the world's most powerful, the HD7850 is a decent card, more than capable of playing most games, up to 1080p, well, if not at "ultra". Of course, it's something that's easy to upgrade, when funds are better.
I would suggest the NZXT Source 210 Elite is possibly a better case, at similar price.
Also, if using Vengeance RAM, you need to be sure it's the low profile CML version, to avoid a potential clash with cooler.
You don't give prices, but if it's cheaper, the XFX 550w PSU is good.
