you using a 7870? not really worth upgrading if £250 is your budget imo, 7870 is a £200ish card and is a good one at that

ah ok, well what resolution you play on? 660ti/670. is a nice upgrade from the 7870. But you can overclock the 7870 quite abit so its near 7950 performance you know.

What about Crossfire, why don't you try with the 7870

1920 x 1080

Wouldn't overclocking require extra cooling?

Also can you explain this to me:
Why is there so many different 660's? In more detail, look at this:
http://www.scan.co.uk/search.aspx?q=660

They all use the 660 chipset but have like different brands. What is the difference, and which would be best to buy out of them?

Is the 7870 good? I've never understood Crossfire, what is it exactly?
September 30, 2012 10:06:22 PM

Crossfire just means using 2 of the same cards in 1 setup.
With the 660s, there is 2 versions, the normal 660 and the 660ti.
The 660ti is the faster card
With that resolution 7870 is fine, I ordered a new system with that card. I can't wait

Ahhh, well actually I'm just about to order my GPU so that really isn't an option.

I'll sell a few stuff and get the Ti I think, I like the look of the 660

What's your CPU because if it's an old one you may use the money to get a better one.

Looks nice, but I'm still not sure if you should upgrade from a 7870 to a 660 ti. It's just not a huge step.

Well the £250 budget is because I'm switching from consoles to PC, I noticed how terrible consoles were and they only get the most attention from gaming companies since the mass amount of money is there, so since I'm switching I'm selling my xbox, PS3 and a load of games. (Like 60)
September 30, 2012 10:42:19 PM

Selling your xbox, ps3 and 60 games will give you more than 1k pounds, so you may want to go 670 and overclock so it can reach the power of 680 for 100$ less.

I would get a bigger power supply TX750? and spend the 250 on a second 7870 for crossfire. The 660ti is great but for you 2 x 7870 will beat 1 660ti in almost all games.
