I'd suggest:

Intel 3rd Generation Core i5-3570K £177.58
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B007RUZKK6/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

Gigabyte SKT-1155 Z77-D3H £78.86
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B007KHROSC/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

Crucial Ballistix BLS2CP4G3D1609DS1S00CEU 8GB (4GB x2) DDR3 £35.30
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B006YG94Y2/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

Total price £291.74

Put the RAM in as your current RAM is DDR2 and that board doesn't support it. Plus it's better.

if you're willing to try ebay (I was and my system has had no trouble and was cheap):

3570k £155 (£24 off amazon)
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Intel-Core-i5-3570K-/251146896323?pt=UK_Computing_CPUs_Processors&hash=item3a798583c3#ht_500wt_1414

RAM prices and motherboards aren't worth it though.
