Advice on £800ish build

Hi all, been doing my research and would like some help finishing this build plan for my new personal rig.

Approximate Purchase Date: Within the next week hopefully

Budget Range: Prefer sub-£800, but budget is flexible.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: I do a lot of illustration, graphic design and some 3d modelling work. I'd be looking to split the usage 50/50 between work and gaming to the best standard possible for my budget.

Are you buying a monitor: Possibly be upgrading the smaller of my two displays to a 1080p display, but not part of this budget.

Parts to Upgrade: All-new build

Do you need to buy OS: No

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Any UK site at all. Cheaper the parts can be found, the better. Most of my components seem cheaper on ebuyer.com FYI

Location: Glasgow, UK.

Parts Preferences: Intel CPU

Overclocking: Yes. I'm looking to OC the I5370k to 4.2Ghz and possibly up the RAM a bit.

SLI or Crossfire: Yes, but not part of this budget. I'm hoping to SLI two Nvidia cards (GTX570?) in a few months time, making do with the Intel 4000HD graphics for now.

Your Monitor Resolution: Currently 1441*900 left (the one I'll upgrade soon) and 1680*1050 right.

Additional Comments: I've been researching for a couple of weeks now and I'm pretty sold on my case, CPU and Mobo choices. I just need some advice on my RAM, PSU, cooler etc.

If any of it seems overkill atm, it's because I've been aiming at the old cliché future proofing and in general I plan on maintaining this with upgrades for the foreseeable.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: Got the money spare after a trip to NYC fell through. Really looking to take advantage of this and get myself freelancing a lot more on the illustration/animation/design side of things. Can't hurt that I haven't experienced high-end pc graphics first hand in almost 5 years.

Thanks in advance, you all seem like such a helpful bunch :D

Parts list so far:

Case: CM Storm Trooper

(I also can't help but contemplate the Aerocool X-Predator Evil Black based purely on aesthetics. If anyone can argue these two against each other in terms of cooling performance and general functionality I'm all ears http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA...)

CPU Intel Core i5 3570K 3.4GHz Socket 1155 6MB Cache Retail Boxed

CPU cooler for OC to 4.2Ghz = Cooler Master Hyper 212
http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0068OI7T8/ref=asc_df_B0068O...

Mobo Asrock Z77 Extreme6 (Was going to go for the Extreme4, but this price seemed too good to pass up. The "just slightly smaller than ATX" size of the E4 also threw me a little...just seems strange. Then again if I'm being ridiculous and I'm really better off with the E4, let me know :)  )

HDD for storage (I work with some pretty large files as I design 96-page catalogues and large-format print work) Seagate 2TB Barracuda Internal Hard Drive
http://www.ebuyer.com/319641-seagate-2tb-barracuda-inte...

SSD (I recently put one in my workstation at my 9-5 job and WOW. Performance increase and usability of the new CS6 suite is remarkable. Cannot pass one of these up for my new build) OCZ 120GB Agility 3
http://www.ebuyer.com/268244-ocz-120gb-agility-3-ssd-ag...

GPU - I'm thinking a GTX 570 but budget wise I'm pretty sure I should wait it out for the 16th August to price the new cards (number escapes me atm...660i? 670i? You know the one I mean :)  ) and I should probably hold out until a few months down the line, making do with the integrated 4000HD gfx on the IB CPU.

Optical drive will be whatever DVD RW I can pick up sub-£15. Easy enough.

Which leaves me with RAM and a PSU.

I've narrowed RAM down to:-
G.Skill 8GB RipjawsX http://www.ebuyer.com/264750-g-skill-8gb-ddr3-1600mhz-r...
or
Corsair 16GB Vengeance http://www.ebuyer.com/248759-corsair-16gb-ddr3-1600mhz-...

I'm aware there are bound to be the usual "you don't need more than 8GB" but as well as the aforementioned memory intensive Adobe use I a) dabble in things like ZBrush from time to time and b) would like to put enough in here just now while the cash is spare that I don't have to worry about it for a while.

For the PSU I'm completely open to suggestions. I'm aware the 80+ rated PSUs are much more efficient so I didn't want to just throw an 850W in there for the hell of it, but I also don't want to underpower this thing, given that I plan to SLI in the future and I'll be OCing.

Oh and as a side note, should I be looking at adding any fans to that case over and above the stock offering? It comes with quite a few pre-installed.

Thanks again. Sorry for the wall of text! Looking forward to hearing your suggestions.

The only real difference between the Extreme 4 and Extreme 6 are that the Extreme 6 comes with a front USB 3.0 bracket - if your case already has front USB 3.0 ports you don't need it.

Get the low profile Vengeance over those instead: http://www.ebuyer.com/274035-corsair-8gb-ddr3-1600mhz-l...

No telling what kind of benchmarks the 660TI is going to produce until it's out, but a Radeon 7870 is a far better GPU in the price range than a 570 is.

You won't know what kind of additional fans you'll need until you get the build up and running. You can only buy as many as your case has mounts for, and you won't know which way your air is going to flow until you get the build setup.

Okay thanks for the suggestions :)  I'll hold off from additional fans, certainly.

Anyone care to weigh in? Also any opinions on the PSU Wattage? Or about running dual monitors off the mobo rather than a GPU?

Cheers :)

Unsure of the bumping policy around these parts, apologies if I'm breaking any rules or anything.

Could use advice on the PSU and some more opinions on the other original questions as I'd quite like to start ordering some stuff after work today.

Thanks again
Matt
