£1000 ($1600) Gaming Computer

Hi, I'm looking to build a new PC for gaming. This is my first build, so I was hoping to get some opinions and criticism about if the parts will work together and if I should be buying different components. I also must apologize if some of the conversions between GBP and USD are incorrect. I am currently going with:

Motherboard- Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll definitely be doing a redesign. But I was looking for a motherboard with the added audio jacks ( My headphones use the green, pink, black and orange ones- Sorry I don't know what the actual terms for these are) Do you have any suggestions?

Easy enough to fix just swap out the Mobo i put in for this one:

Is the Nvidia 670 much better than the Radeon 7950 3GB? From what I can tell it's generally more expensive but I'm not sure how that translates to actual performance

Also I was thinking of upgrading the processor from an i5 to an i7, but I'm not sure if an i7 will make much of a performance difference when compared to the price difference.

A GTX 670 isn't that much more expensive and does give better frames in general.

No the i7 will give no tangible gains for gaming
