Advice on a £300 - £400 Gaming PC

My current PC is very old and need a new one as FPS is suffering in my games.

Budget Range: £300 - £400, $450 - $650

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, Surfing the Web, Video Editing

Parts Not Required: Keyboard, mouse, speakers, monitor

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Anywhere that ships to the United Kingdom - England.

Country: United Kingdom / England

Parts Preferences: I really don't mind, don't think I will have much choice

Overclocking: No

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe in the future, or now if I can afford it

Monitor Resolution: 1280x1024 - can support VGA and DVI

Though, I'd suggest swapping the CPU for the i5 2400.

Well, that's just to give you an idea of the parts. Get them from the UK equivalent of Newegg.

First question though is what does your current PC have? Most importantly what PSU, HDD and Case. (make, model number and how long you've had them would be great)

Dell Dimension C521 - AMD Sempron 3400+ 1.8GHz, 1GB DDR2 333MHz, 500GB HDD, Small Form Factor Case, 500GB HDD, Broken Optical Drive, 280W Dell PSU, Windows XP 32bit. Had it for six years now.

So basically the only part that I could use from this is a 500GB HDD. There is no point upgrading because I can't buy a decent GPU for my system (due to small PSU) and it would cost loads anyway.
