Hello.
This is to be by first build, so feedback much appreciated. Basically I am looking to build a high(ish) end pc that'll let me play the latest games at high settings smoothly. At the moment I am on a mac mini from 09, it wasn't used for gaming, however it is now becoming increasingly worse at everything, so I decided now would be the best time to go for the pc i wanted. Anyway, enough of the chit-chat - here is what I have drafted at the minute:
(Note all prices from scan.co.uk) (location England) (already have mouse, keyboard, monitor and os) (I will be over clocking i5 to 4.5ghz) (I will be getting an intel cpu)
CPU:
Intel i5 2500k - £170
Cooler:
Noctua NH-D14 - £60
HDD:
WD 1Tb Caviar Black - £100
SSD:
60Gb Corsair Force - £70
Mobo:
Asus P8Z68-V/GEN3 - £130
GPU
EVGA GTX 580 DS SC (4Ghz) - £320
PSU
OCZ ZX Series 850W - £130
RAM
Samsung Electronics extreme low voltage (2 x 4gb) - £35
CASE
Coolermaster HAF 932 Advance black full tower - £100
I'm looking to get another gpu in the future as an upgrade, hence the 850W psu.
The main questions I have are: Should I wait for ivy bridge? I am on a limited budget, and this build as of above reaches £1100(ish) and I couldn't go above that now, what prices will ivy bridge be, and if I do wait until ivy bridge releases would I be able to get i5 2500k cheaper? My other question is if you would be able to reduce the cost of this (recommendations please), but still keep the quality the same, or close.
Thanks in advance.
