More about 920 1450 gaming build advice
  1. I would lose the sound card & use onboard sound. Unless you have audiophile speakers (and Ears!) a sound card is a waste.

    Also do you mean HD6970?
    according to this:
    a 6870 is more powerful than a 6790.
  2. I don't have the money, as you can see I'm already $250 over budget
  3. Dropped the sound card, down to $1,620
  4. I'd get a single 6950 2gb instead of the cfx 6790 and add another one later. Also, you could hold off on the 1TB hdd if you don't need it just yet since prices are way up, and pick that up later for probably half what it costs now. Not sure what cpu cooler that model is, but if it's more than $33, pick up the hyper 212 EVO instead.

Also I'd recommend a better brand PSU like this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139022
  5. Changed to a single 6950 and downgraded to a 750 gig hdd. Now at $1,598!
    Need more advice. BUMP
  6. Should I get 1333Mhz RAM instead?
  7. Have you had a look at other websites to find the best deals on all of your parts? Also most people recommend G.Skill ram and they usually have good prices as well.
