I think your pricing is way off mate.

In the UK computer comonents are alot more expensive. We get landed with 20% VAT and Import Tax.
Not to mention i dont think an 850w PSU has a hope in hell of running SLI 580s. You want to be looking more at 1000w.

It's alright, I can understand some people don't see the £, and just automaticaly opt for a $ build on the forum...

I would like to make one alteration and that is can anyone advice, for a new budget of up to and around £3000, and build that includes a watercooling kit, possibly some LED's/ Cold Cathode Tubes for lighting and any other recommended case lighting, along with using either the 560 ti/ 580 GPU instead of the 6970's currently listed?

I was just reading that article aswell and I took from it that the Asus P8Z68 Deluxe was the best motherboard as it out performed in most of the classes...

Wouldn't this be the better of the motherboards?

ASUS make really great products, there's no doubt about that. I think the Extreme7 came out on top due to its fully functional PCI 3.0 support ("IvyBridge Ready"). After all the review was for "Enthusiast" boards, and Enthusiasts need upgrade paths

those look like reference designs which can be unlocked to 6970s

well least on the pic they show

the others that Im sure can unlock are the sapphire toxics but its a bit too expensive

1000 watts will do for 3 6970s

Additional cooling wouldn't be required unless heavily over-clocking. Just make sure you get a GTX580 with 2 cooling fans, something like the MSI one, just to help ease the temps from running SLI. Side case fans also help to blow cold air directly onto the cards.
