Hello, I am trying to build a low budget PC for my other half. She only requires the machine to play RIFT as she does most of her work, browsing and watches videos on her laptop.

The target is to get a machine that meets this spcification if possible.
Recommended System Specification
Operating system: Windows XP, Vista or 7
Processor: Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz or better
Memory: 4 GB
Hard disk space: 8.0 GB available
Desktop Video: Nvidia GTS 250 or better
Notebook Video: Nvidia GTX 200M series or better
Sound: DirectX 8.1 compliant card
DirectX®: 9.0c, June 2010 update

Approximate Purchase Date: this week (the closer the better)

Budget Range: £300 (with a little wiggle room for superior build, but only a little)

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Playing RIFT

Parts Not Required: keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers, OS, HDD

Preferred Website(s) for Parts:,

Country of Origin: England

Parts Preferences: No Preference

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: No

Monitor Resolution: 1280x1024

I have both Win7 home premium or XP professional that I can install on the system, I also have a 160GB Sata HDD and a 320 IDE hdd that I can install depending on the system.

My ideas so far:

Case + PSU: £37.98 -
CPU:AMD Phenom II 840, £77.76 -
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-M68MT-S2 (AM3) Motherboard, £39.98 -
GPU: XFX ATI 5770, £89.99 -
Mem: Corsair XMS3 4GB 1600Mhz, £40 -
DVD Drive: £13 -

Total: £298.71

Any thoughts, suggestions or improvements are extremely welcome. I am struggling with this build so all help is appreciated.
