MY BUDGET IS AROUD £700 BUT CAN BE STRETCHED AND I AM GOING TO BULD A GAMING PC FOR MYSELF. NEED SOME ADVICE .PLEASE :)

OVERLOCKED BUNDLE :Should I get a better fan for this CPU ?? Should I stick with this bundle or should I get all this components separate and get a better motherboard , I have never overlocked a cpu so this bundle would be perfect for me :p  i don't think I can afford better RAM.

If you are hell bent on over-clocking your CPU, this combination isn't too bad. Wow but it is available for much cheaper in USA than listed here. Anyway, it could be my perception.

If you can, try for a combo that features a triple channel DDR3 memory.

HIS cards are very cool and quiet these days. I own a HIS HD 5850 iCooler Vanilla and it is a very good card.

Please get a hard drive with 32mb cache.

If you can visit a store to buy a case, please do so. I had to make sure that no compartments are there to block the card.

You haven't forgotten anything considering you will buy a keyboard mouse controller etc. Lite-On DVD/Blu Ray drive is good.

I don't know. Maybe someone else can comment on the over clocking aspect.

Yeah HIS HD 5850 iCooler V that I use is really a superb card. It was kind of overpriced when I got it, but I am sure it has dropped to a sane price tag now.

everywhere they seem to sell the triple channel DDR3 memory in packages of three and they are about same price as a combo of dual channel ones . How is that possible , is the triple channel DDR3 memory really that much better and yet costs about the same ?

I have done a lot of time thinking about this build and this is what I came up with . Here is my revised build. The only components I am not too sure about is the PSU as I will probably want to crossfire two of those GPU's later on.

CPU - seems like a good CPU which can be overlocked later :D

MOB - good reviews and seems to be compatible with all the components alos future proof

The mobo that u have suggested doesn't support 1666 mhz RAM :c ?

Should i get a 6Gb/s , the mobo supports it .

Supports anything up to 1866. The RAM will work at 1333 anyway unless you overclock. No, get the Samsung.
December 11, 2010 3:13:27 PM

Also what do you mean by

" I would get the last one for lower power consumption and some extra features (3D, etc)."

and i found this CPU which is only £20 more

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/204939

is that mobo compatible with it ? ? and is that processor worth the £20 extra ?
sorry that i am asking so many questions im still a newbie in building pc's, THANKS !

The new series is 3D ready for 3D movies and games. The card has a lower power consumption 151W as opposed to 188W. The difference between the two of them in gaming is very small.

For gaming get the X4, it's faster, the X6 one (1055T) is more for video editing and such.

Ah Ah Ah. This is a big no no. The His 5850 is one of the cards you won't be able to overclock. The only 5850's that have voltage tweak on them are the Twin Frozr (MSI) and the DirectCu (Asus) and the reference cards. There are virtually no new reference cards on sale and the Asus Directcu is your best bet. It's cool and quiet.

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/ASUS/EAH_5850_TOP_Di...

If you want a 5850 for a 5870's performance the DirectCu is your best bet. As you can see it OC's to 970mhz very easily at only 1.35v (really low, I need like 2.25v to get 1000mhz stable). Then at 1000 core clock it's past the 5870's performance. So should you want to OC a card, the DirectCu is a better card, with low temps too.

That's more powerful than the 5870 and it can be OC. If you plan to OC the card)s) better get one of those
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/164950
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/159923

Make sure you register the video card(s) on the XFX site in order to activate the lifetime warranty.

If you want to OC the CPU get this
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/245376

OCing the AMD black edition CPUs is very easy, just up the multiplier in the BIOS and you're done. You can get +0.3-0.4 GHz without increasing the CPU voltage or even more with a small increase.

^ Yup, I got my 955 to 3.6-3.7 no increase in voltage. One card you should really look at if you plan to OC and CF. The 6850 DirectCu's are really sweet. You'll be able to OC them VERY well. Many Reviews stay the 6850 as an OCing monster. The 6850 is like the 5850, OCable past it's higher counter-part. The 6850 after OC is comparable to the 5870 as well. A little less. Plus the best thing after CF it's only 300 Euros from the prices based off overclockers.co.uk. (Price for the 6850 DirectCu)

Another thing, the 6850 have such great scaling almost 80-90%.

As for CPU coolers, like mosox, the Hyper 212+ is the best budget cooler/HSF.

Some monitors:

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/190668

You can get this CPU, up the multiplier a bit and it's the same as the 965:

Since you're buying such a powerful video card you can ditch the crossfire and get a cheaper mobo and PSU:
