£450 Solidworks 2010 (cad) system

anyone got any ideas? preferably a fast harddrive and plenty of memory? you guys probly know a damn sight more about it than me so ill leave it to you, asap please guys, looking to buy in the next couple of weeks. thanks - Esaglik.

  1. Well.... I have no idea what type of CAD work you plan to do (ie. basic assemblies <100 parts,etc), so answering that would be a start.
  2. yeah, basically im part of a project to design a gt car (single piece but with a fair amount of definition) for a race, its not a full sized gt car however, its just a small version which basically a company is going to stick a gas cylinder into and run it down a track, its something like 800mm square the size to work within, so yeah. urm what else, its team based and we need to get a screen into that to fit around 6 people round it to be able to put ideas in simultaniously?
  3. ^ I'm sorry, but with the OS and a LCD your budget is not enough. A good 22-23" LCD is ~$100-150. OS is about $120. That's already 1/2 of your budget gone.

    Yep and cuts a pretty big chunk vs an actual FirePro too :P
  13. the downside of that is, I dont fully understand the guide :L Im not much of a code kinda user if Im honest, i prefer the nice sleek gui's :P
