I've recently decided to build a new PC as my current one is struggling to even start-up most new games. My budget is around £500 (£600 inc Monitor).

This is what I've got so far:

LiteOn IHAS124-19 24x DVD±RW DL & RAM SATA Optical Drive - OEM Black (£14.99)

Seagate Barracuda LP ST3500412AS 500GB Hard Drive SATAII 5900rpm 16MB Cache - OEM (£35.00)

ASROCK M3A770DE 770 Socket AM3 8 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard (£51.33)

G-Skill 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600MHz/PC3-12800 Ripjaw Memory Kit CL7(7-8-7-24) 1.65V (£92.99)

AMD Athlon II X3 440 3GHz Socket AM3 1.5MB (3x512KB) L2 Cache Retail Boxed Processor (£57.70)

Sapphire HD 5830 1GB GDDR5 DUAL DVI-I HDMI Display Port Out PCI-E Graphics Card COD MW2 Game Edition (£164.49)

Ocz Fatal1ty Series 550w Psu - Uk (£60.74)

Antec 300 Three Hundred Case (£44.60)

Samsung SM2333SW 23" TFT Monitor 1920x1080 300cd/m2 20000:1 5ms DVI/VGA Gloss Black 3 Years Warranty (£134.98)

Total: £656.82

These are currently all from Ebuyer so I'll probably be ordering a few from other sites if I find any to be much cheaper.
It's mainly built for playing newer games but also online games such as Second Life which are CPU reliant so I'm not sure what the best CPU/GPU combo is. The build was basically taken from the sticky guides but some parts are different as some listed pieces dont appear to be available in the UK.

Thanks for your time.

get this hardrive instead its faster and slightly cheaper

get this ram instead

thats ten dollars cheaper for only slightly higher timings

i dont really know how you could save much more money on the computer

u could drop down to a 5770 if budget was strict but the 5830's got mw2 bundled so its a pretty got deal.

edit slightly cheaper and i would reccomend gigabyte over asrock

edit cheaper moniter i have it at home and its pretty good

Save a price cut the GTX 460 is a better buy than HD 5830 so less LCD we could nab @ 457 pounds off Ebuyer UK
