Hi guys,

GPU - HIS Radeon HD5770 1GB
**already have this**

Total price - £533.80

First off, does this seem OK to everyone, is there any way I could make this better for the same (ish) money?
Secondly, I will probably be O/C this build, would I be able to reuse my Zalman CNPS7000B-Cu from my old machine or would i need a new HSF, and if as I suspect I need a new one, what would be a good, quiet, cheap HSF :)

Thanks all
DT

I suppose there's a chance you could find a retention bracket that would allow you to fit it onto the new mobo, but after 5 minutes of reading, it looks like it can be hit and miss whether it will fit properly.

It looks to me like the case choice will have an impact on heatsink choice, as it is not very wide. Your case is 190mm wide, I'm not convinced that it could accommodate a cooler more than 150mm tall.

Define cheap.

You could probably go for one of the mid-sized ones from here: http://www.silentpcreview.com/Recommended_Heatsinks

Personally I would swap the case for Antec 300. It costs more but you won't need to buy seperate fans. You aren't using some hot powerful card like the GTX 470 or 480, so heat wont be an issue anyway and with a good case like the 300 flow should be good.

Also, make sure you check the shipping cost at Scan. If the i5 750 is the only thing you are buying there you may find that it works out cheaper from ebuyer due to shipping cost at scan.

Good suggestions, I have swapped the case for the Antec 300 and have decided on the Coolermaster Hyper 212 plus, unfortunately I cannot get that at ebuyer, saverstore or scan so have had to get it from novatech.
Now a teacher of mine always told me to "show my working" so here goes (this looked better in the spreadsheet) :)

So in the end I have decided to go with the ebuyer / saverstore option (not the cheapest but for the sake of £1 it will be less hassle)
This has saved me enough over the "All ebuyer" option to purchase the HSF :)

Does this look OK to all?
Cheers,
DT

Looks good, I think I will add savestore to mine too. Usually I use scan, ebuyer and novatech. Only used novatech the once so far but they seemed pretty good and fair priced - in fact I used them instead of ebuyer for the item I wanted due to working out cheaper at the time

Well thank you both very much, I had not come across saverstore before this little excercise either. I will let you know if they actually deliver...
