Graphics card for hi resoulution monitor

I was told that if I add a 30 inch monitor to my system,(EIZO Flexscan SX3031-W) I would need a new graphics card. Currently I am running Win 7 and have a 20" Trinitron CRT. My system is about 3 years old. (the board is able to support usb 3) What are my options. I cant remember what graphics card is installed now, but I dont think I paid a lot for it.
