6ms bad for gaming for this 24inch IPS?

Hello,

I'm shopping around for a monitor, and I've had a tough time finding a 16:9 ips monitor 24 inch monitor (most of them are 16:10, which i don't want because I'd have black bars on the top and bottom while playing Starcraft 2).

The only thing I'm worried about is that it's 6ms - is this a bad response time for gaming?

Also open to any other 24 inch 16:9 ratio IPS monitor suggestions (good luck finding them).

No, 6ms is not bad. Anything under 8ms is fine as you cannot see any visible ghosting. I can't think of any 24" 16:9. Almost all are 1200p, which is 16:10 aspect ratio.

Most 24" monitors are 16:9 aspect ratio or 1920x1080 resolution. It has been that way for the past 3 years. 1920x1200 resolution monitors are now rather rare.

6ms is typical for IPS monitors of any type. Some are rated at fast as 5ms, but the difference between 5ms and 6ms is not noticeable.

Wow, are you guys serious? Thats great news for me. I purchased a BenQ 32" 1080p flat HD TV from a used furniture store for under $200.

I liked the display on first view at the store didnt read all the specs until I got home, the price was too good to pass up - worst case down in the basement it goes.

I was somewhat disappointed when I read that it features a .6ms response time. In my brain thats a dash over 1/2 a second, right?

I been testing it with 1080p videos from youtube - so far I do not see any horrible ghosting. ( sorry forgot model#, will post later.)

1ms = 1/1000 of a second.

6ms = 6/1000 of a second.
