Monitors with the best picture quality?

I am looking for an IPS monitor that is an overall improvement over my current monitor in picture quality(sharpness/color)



How is Dell U2410? Or is there anything better? By the way I wish I would buy a 1440p screen but they are out of my budget

What I need it for:

Games (mostly rts)
photoshop
Web design
Various 3d apps

Budget $500 - 550 shipped +tax.

I have a u2410 at work and two other IPS displays at home (a u3011 and a zr2740w).

There are only a handful of monitors better than the u2410, most notably the NEC IPS line. But they are far more expensive and not terribly suited to gaming.

I fully recommend the u2410 to anyone, unless they require a glossy finish screen.
