Something wrong with my new LED monitor?

Hello,

I bought my first LED monitor this boxing day. (Acer S232HL)

I brought it home and hooked it up, and everything seems fine. Except when the background is displaying certain colours, and when viewing at certain angles, there are darker regions on the screen where there shouldn't be. (I.E. the same colour is on the screen in these regions so they should appear exactly the same to the eye)

Is it typical for LED monitors to show darker regions like this? or is my new monitor faulty?

By your description it is hard to say for sure, but all LCD screens have a certain viewing angle where the colours (I have always liked that spelling) are best.

However, the darker regions worry me, and it it were me, I would exchange it right away.
