Why does my flat screen monitor come on and rite away go off

the monitor is view sonic model #VX1935W I hook it up blue light comes on the screen displays picture only for a second. So then t push the buttons in front and can get the picture to come back but it quick on off, then try to get the menu to stay on long enough it just wont stay on. So then after a couple cycle of this then it shuts its self off completely. I've gone in comp and checked all the power save modes made no difference. Please help Its monitor number 3 I've already scraped the other 2 Thank you my name is Tina

Bad monitor, can you see a faint display, or if you shine a light on the screen? Usually it's the converter part that is bad, could be a bad backlight.

If its an old out of warranty monitor you can pop her open and take a look. My issue a few months back ended up being bad capacitors. http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/323076-33-sceptre-x22wg-monitor-possibly-dying
