Hey everyone, I am looking to upgrade my old samsung 22 inch monitor with something new as it is on its way out.

I want a 23-24 inch one, it needs to have a DVI port, I will be using it for gaming (battlefield 3, skyrim) so it needs to have a low response time, ive heard the VA and IPS panels, although better at reproducing colours are prone to ghosting.

My budget is about £200 but I would rather spend around £150.

Thanks for your input everyone

IPS and VA ghosting issues were more of a problem in 2003. That said they are probably out of your price range.

When buying TN, try to buy something you can return in case you have a bunch of dead pixels. Never tell them you are returning because of that though. It's better to say you just don't like it(unless there is a restocking fee).

I have been reading a lot over the last few hours and have decided on a dell U2312HM (£189).

Can you recommend this monitor, or any alternatives that may give better bang for my buck? Cheers

I've never used it, but knowing what I know, I think it's one of the best (if not the best) gaming monitors. It's what I'd buy on your budget.

The only slight drawback is that it's 6bit color (plus a-frc), but that's not bad. Other than that, it's got almost no lag, and very little ghosting.
