APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: Within a month BUDGET RANGE: £200 - 250

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: gaming

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers, OS, case, optical drive, hard drive(sata II), reusing Thermaltake TR-2 470W

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: ebuyer.com

PARTS PREFERENCES: None

OVERCLOCKING: Yes SLI OR CROSSFIRE: No

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1280x1024 might be higher if I bought a new monitor

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Don't think I can afford to be picky?

So in short I need a new GPU, CPU, MOBO and RAM. From looking at other budget builds I was thinking of maybe pentium E5200 and Radeon HD4850 but i'm unsure of where to go from there.

Any suggestions would be nice. Thanks.

an Xbox 360?

what size is your case? ATX or mATX?

edit: how's this?

HIS 4850 1GB
ASUS M4A785TD-M Evo
OCZ platinum 1600MHz 4GB
AMD athlon II 240 X2

yes, that athlon is better than the E5200 and cheaper too, along with it being upgradable in the future.

ATX

That totals around £270 not including shipping i'd be looking for a bit cheaper. Stock fan on the AMD would be sufficient? Thanks for your reply

^ yes the fan would be sufficient.

and it costs £265 on OCUK, you could try scan.co.uk as well and see if it goes lower, although the delivery might go quite high.
