Hey, I'm looking to build a new pc for the first time.

Thinking about waiting for the new i's but leaning more towards a phenom II amd 3 system.

What do you guys think about these parts

Gigabyte GA-MA785GMT-UD2H 785G Socket AM3 DVI VGA HDMI Out 8 Channel Audio MATX Motherboard £70

AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition 3.2 GHz Socket AM3 8MB Cache Retail Boxed Processor £145

Corsair 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600MHz/PC3-12800 XMS3 DHX Memory Kit £65

Hitachi DeskStar 1TB Hard Drive SATAII 7200rpm 16MB Cache - OEM £55

Sony DRU-870S 24x DVDRW SATA Black - Retail Box £20

Antec Mini P180 Black MATX Case - No PSU £60

Corsair 400W CX PSU - 12cm Fan 80Plus Certified Efficiency 6x SATA 1x PCI-E £40

Total £465

I will also be buying a dedicated graphics card later when the new directx 11 range comes out.

Is everything compatible.

Hmm if i were you i'd tone down on the case as that seems a tad steep for an mATX case while with the funds saved, i would pump into a more powerful PSU (assuming you plan to game with powerful current gen GPUs)

save £15 and get an antec 300 over the P180 as it's not much taller.

and get a 650w from corsair, OCZ or Antec if you plan on getting a DX11 graphics card.
