Could anyone recommend parts for a good gaming system? I'll be spending around $1170 not incl. P&P.
Be playing game like Dead Space, Crysis, Far Cry 2 etc at 1920x1080.
I already have a screen, keyboard, mouse, speakers and Vista purchased.
Thanks!

How about this?

XFX 4890 1GB
AMD Phenom II 955
ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO
Corsair XMS3 1600MHZ (although you could use any 4GB kit of 1600MHz ram)
WDC black 640GB
Noctua NH-U12P
Thermaltake V9
PCP&C 750w
2x Scythe Kaze Jyuni 1200rpm 120mm fans
and a DVD-RW

that comes out to £702.68 plus delivery on OCUK, but it might be a bit cheaper on scan.co.uk

That's very nice thanks
but the gtx 275 OCX is only £60 and it really does destroy the hd 4890
and I could save that money by getting an x3 720 I was just reading about them
would that be better?
thanks

^ the 275 does not destroy the 4890, at stock speeds they're equal, when overclocking, the 4890 kicks the 275 down to the ground.

you could get a 720 but then you'd lose a small amount of OC potential and a core, if you want to save money on the CPU then get the 550 as they have a high core unlocking rate and overclock very well.
