Dell lcd display model 2005fpw windows 7 compatible

since I was given (free-of-charge) 2 of these monitors [Dell Ultrasharp 20" LCD display monitor - model #2005FPW] I thought surely I'd enjoy them...however...I'm having difficulty with them and am not sure if it's my graphics card trying to go out on me or some sort of incompatibility problem with windows 7

any suggestions? insight? anything?

What kind of problems do you have? Windows does not need ant third-party drivers for monitors, it detects them and installs them automatically. Windows Update will then find the latest drivers for the monitors(if connected by DVI) if any available and will update the drivers for you.
If you believe it is the graphics card's fault, reboot in safe mode and re-install the latest drivers for it, then reboot.
