That was the second 24" monitor I ever bought. I compared it to my old T240HD and the LG's color was dreadful much too inaccurate. No matter the amount of optimization I did with it, it still looked like crap. I was not only unsatisfied about the picture, its stand was extremely flimsy.. A slight wobble of the desk could make it dance around on your desk.. I compared the 1920x1200 to the 1920x1080 and it just lacks the needed space.. Sure you will watch some movies, but 1920x1200 is much more useful in everything else. Not to mention the 16x10 (8x5) aspect ratio is very natural to look at, for gaming and web browsing. Save your money there are better things out there.

Also I just got a new monitor, the U2410 its very nice a great adjustable stand and amazing picture. I would highly recommend looking for a refurbished version of this monitor on ebay. Another great monitor, that ageing slightly is the T240HD and T240. They have exceptional image, just a good as the U2410's to be in fact. The T240HD is a Tn panel compared to the U2410's IPS panel. Tn's are fast and cheap to build. IPS have better image and viewing angles are generally more expensive and are slightly slower. I would still recommend either monitor today.
