Dynex Computer Monitor with Blank Screen

Hi Folks, my Dynex monitor went blank on me. All I get is a flicker about every 5 seconds. Can I fix this? I am somewhat electronic savvy. I can't troubleshoot a circuit board but I can replace components on them.

Things to try: Inverter (cheapest if you can do the replacement yourself), backlight (will be better to buy a new monitor than replace it I think), power supply (no clue how much those go for).

If a repair cost is about 1/2 of a new monitor cost I'd stay you are better off getting a new monitor, especially with a off-brand like Dynex.
