Hi All

Considering doing my first build, have a budget of around £500-700, will be purchasing im the UK using places like ebuyer etc. I want to use the PC for general use but also to play some games (things like Football Manager 09, Age Of Empires 3 etc).

Would welcome your thoughts, advice

So far I was thinking of : -

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Processor
Antec Three Hundred Black Case
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Cooler
Asus P5Q motherboard with Intel P45 chipset
nVidia GeForce 9600GSO 768MB PCI-E
Kingston HyperX 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 PC2-8500C6 1066MHz Dual Channel Kit
Sony DRU-190S 20X DVD±RW DL & DVD-RAM Serial
Samsung SpinPoint F1 HD103UJ 1TB Hard Drive SATAII *32MB Cache*
LG W2234S monitor

Not sure about power supply at the moment.

Thanks

Yeah that will be fine the 9600GSO will run all on high for age of emp III since i have had one and i use that game for some lower end bencies... also i would get a gigabyte P45 board like the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128345

but just buy that board from like ebay or some where oh and also maybe amazon...

Also you dont need pc8500 you only need pc 6400... and also get a western digital hard drive like the re3 because its very high performing or the greenpowerto save energy. So i hop this helps Oh and also you micght want to consider an E8400 it ia a great gaming CPU butis not quite as future proof for games.
