Quick question about aspect ratio

i have a monitor- lacie electron 22 blue iv, which states that it has a 4:3 aspect ratio. (i dont have the manual i looked it up) its a 22" flat, aperture grille crt with 20" viewable. Well it states online (multiple sources) that its best and native (native on a crt?) res is 1280 X 1024. But thats a 5:4 aspect res! How can this be?

nevermind stupid intrawebs were wrong many times over. this is a 4:3 monitor with 1600X1200 @ 85 hz recommended. currently running that and its great. managed to find the manual and confirmed it from there.
