Dvi and hdmi

hey guys, so i recently bought a 21.5 inch samsung monitor which is 1920x1080 res for my gaming pc. it came with a dvi cable and an hdmi cable, and the monitor has an input for each. i plugged in the dvi cable to my graphics card and monitor and all is well but im wondering does the hdmi cable have better quality? or do i plug in both the dvi and hdmi cables to my monitor and graphics card? thanks in advance

I don't see what could go wrong with experimenting -- if your video card has both sockets and you possess the right cable(s) give it a go !

i just want to know if plugging in 2 separate cables (dvi and hdmi) to the monitor and graphics card would damage anything.
