Hello all,

I am getting a new monitor soon to go with my new HD 5870. I need a monitor that can do it justice and look super snazzy. I have read alot of other monitor forums and usually the stuff people post is just fanboy i like asus, lg, samsung, acer... What I want to know it as of right now what are some of the better choices for high end 24" monitors. I was looking at an LG monitor that had 2ms and a 2000000:1 contrast ratio which is the LG W2486L. I do not know if that is a good choice because on most of the forums people usually favor asus or acer and I have never had an asus before.

If you know some good high end gaming monitors that are
1) 24"
2) have 2ms
3) are NOT extremely glossy.

I would really appreciate it if you posted one or a few on here!

Thanks for your time,
Curtis

Which aspect ratio are you after?

I want 16:10 and the Samsung T260 caught my eye, it's 25.5" with 1920x1200 but it is currently out of stock in Australia.

Now only Dell's catches my eye as I want a screen bigger than 24" and is in 16:10 aspect ratio (I am upgrading from a Samsung 2232BW 2ms GTG 1680x1050).

Try looking into the U2410 and the 2709W. They are non-TN panels and are not for the "bang for the buck" gamer.

I am waiting for someone in Dell to contact me when they have $100 off. He can offer me 15% off right now but why buy now when I can get an extra $100 off.. ;)

I am looking for a 16:10 aspect ratio, i know samsung makes good monitors I have had some in the past but not recently enough to know if they are good now.

I have never used a dell because I never thought of them as a good monitor manufacturer? am i thinking crazy or are they good?

I just bought a Samsung P2770H not to be confused with the 2770HD

Difference?
2770HD = 50,000:1 DCR, 5ms, speakers, lots more inputs
2770H = 70,000:1 DCR, 2ms, no speakers.

I bought the Asus VW266 and the picture was HORRID. The lights and darks were way washed out. I returned it within a week.

The 2770H Has really good color, and surprisingly good lights and darks, at least for a TN panel.

Its not a Dell Ultrasharp, but its big and beautiful. 27" viewable for 350$.

I am very picky, and very happy with this screen. Just my opinion.

PS this model just got manufactured at the end of last year, so its not available everywhere yet, but if you look you can find it!
