Has anyone else found it difficult to obtain a low input lag LCDs lately at reasonable prices (say < $300)? At least newegg.com seems to be lacking. I was comparing monitors here:

http://www.digitalversus.com/duels.php?ty=6&ma1=36&mo1=402&p1=3707&ma2=36&mo2=224&p2=2104&ph=12

And was thinking I'd go with the Samsung 226BW. But I go to newegg and find it discontinued:

Same story with the Samsung 2493HM and BenQ E2200HD. Another example: most of the monitors that are rated "good" or better by the German site PRAD cannot be had at newegg:

I noticed a similar discussion on the HardOCP forum re the lack of quality monitors lately:

I'm in the market for a quality 24" or 22" LCD with low input lag, a 3-year warranty, Class II pixel quality (ie no more than 2 dead pixels allowed), and for ~$250 or less from a reputable source such as newegg. I was considering purchasing an entire build from newegg, but it seems my monitor may need to be found elsewhere. Any suggestions?

Some have suggested the Dell UltraSharp 2209WA, but it is a little too steep for my budget:

Solution
My suggestion is Asus VW246H or VK246H. They are the same monitor, but the VK includes a built-in webcam. The VK246H has been tested to have less than 2ms of input lag on average by www.prad.de.

Here's my review:

Highly rated monitors are generally rated on performance, not the pixel policy.

If you want awesome pixel policy, then buy high-end ($800+) NEC and Planar LCD monitors. Customer service will work with you if you have a single dead pixel.

I believe the same is true of Dell monitors that have the "premium panel" guarantee - mostly the more expensive Ultrasharp models. I've owned several Dell monitors though, and not one of them has had a single bad pixel.

Thanks for the input - looking at reviews there are often cons that state there is some kind of finite dead pixel policy, but I was not aware that all inexpensive monitors have this policy.

The ASUS looks like a good monitor, though I've continually seen posts on forums that ASUS cuts corners and has the worst monitors. Hearsay is often wrong, and I'll definitely consider the VW246H. Thanks again!
