Hi, my aim is to get a TV that will be large enough for gaming, DVD, TV from 5-10 ft away yet have a high enough dpi or pixels/square inch to look great close up when being used as a computer monitor (1-2 ft away)?

Is 32" at 1080p a good option or do I really need to go for something smaller or buy a separate TV and monitor?

Thanks a bunch!

If you are strapped for cash, then get a HDTV to serve both purposes. 32" is too small for anything beyond 5ft. The general rough rule is that the size of the HDTV should be half the viewing distance.

Is a 32" LCD monitor too big for PC usage at about 2 ft away? That depends on you. I would probably want to be 2 - 3 ft away.

It's always better to get a HDTV and a monitor.
