I have recently bought a Asus Sabertooth 990FX and had also bought a samsung 830 series 256gb SSD. upon installign the ssd and fresh copy of windows all was fine. As soon as i tried to install the JMicron® JMB362 controller driver from the disc upon resetting the computer would refuse to boot at all. I contacted samsung who suggested that the ssd was faulty.

The drive above is away for inspection but since then i have bought a 120gb corsair force 3 ssd and the same thing happen fresh install all good as soon a JMicron® JMB362 controller is installed all goes to pot and the system once again locks on the windows splash screen. What i can't understand is upon reading the manual which i will detail the exert below stats that the JMicron® JMB362 controller only controls the sata 3 ports which is not even the ports the ssd is installed in.

Storage AMD SB950 controller :
6 x SATA 6Gb/s port(s), brown
Support Raid 0, 1, 5, 10

JMicron® JMB362 controller :
2 x SATA 3Gb/s port(s), black
1 x Power eSATA 3Gb/s port(s), green
1 x eSATA 3Gb/s port(s), red

If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated

I got it form asus as it was in the install disc never thought to get it from jmicron. Will give that a try and see if their newer driver makes any diff.
