  1. SMART status is questionable. It can indicate that a problem is developing with your drive, and make your life much better by prompting you to do a backup. Do one now. However, sometimes it is over-zealous; I have read threads with experts discussing how to interpret the SMART data.

You can download more extensive diagnostics from WD and test the drive thoroughly. If it agrees that the drive is failing, replace it. If not, it's up to you. I wouldn't take the risk. But back up now so that you won't lose anything that you need.

If it's six months old, is it still in warranty? Can you get it repaired by the vendor. If you do, back up first in case they destroy your data. Do you see a common thread here? I keep repeating the backup, since it's the most important thing.

    Good luck.
  2. it is still in warranty,i'll ask the vendor for help
