I came across this monitor "Asus 22" MW221U" and the price is about right for me but I don´t know if it´s any good. So far I´ve had no luck in finding a review and I was wondering if anyone here had any ideas were I can find a review or had personal experience with this monitor.

I´m also looking at Samsungs 215TW. It has received good reviews and seems like a solid choice.

Any thoughts on which one is better? I´m mostly interested in the gaming performance but good video playing is also a must.

The Samsung by, IMO, miles. I've spent the last two weeks trying to decide which monitor to get. I was originally looking at a 24" but gave up on that idea because none of the monitors I found were good enough. I've since settled on the Samsung 215TW. It rocks, very hard. The colours are a LOT better than the Asus, although the casing is nicer on the Asus. Freakishly, I just had this convo on another forum. *shivers*

ok so please give us report on asus. as you have seen it and tel us whats wrong with colour. as no one else on the web has done a review. its 2/3 the price and well specified but like LG L226wt there are no reviews on the web yet. also ZBP garantee for full year.

For one thing, the Asus has a TN panel (which alone accounts for most color shortcomings), the Samung an SPVA... that should make choosing the Samsung a "no brainer".

Cnomon misconception TN bad. most TN are 6 bit colour but conterary to popular belief some of the newer ones are 8bit like this one. and if you are using it for gamming at all Avoid all pva monitors. You see tn is not only quicker on responce time but has hardly any delay. PVA have large delay mening geat for vidio but always a frame or two behind acction in games. in fact your right it is a no brainer. I would go for TN everytime. the only alternative is S-IPS. By the way where is everbody price wise.
here in uk ASUS =£280 22"
Samsungs 215TW=£370 21"
acer 2416 (1920x1200) =£470 24"
