New 7970 XFX DD Hitting 95°C

I recently RMA'd my last card, because the fans rattled whe they went over a certain speed.

If I leave everything at standard when playing Far Cry 3 on Ultra 2xMSAA, 1080p, my new card seems to hit 90°C.

My last card would barely touch 80.

If I do the furry & tessy test on MSI Kombustor, it'll hit 95°C, where as before it would maybe hit 81 at a push.

The setup is the same as it was with the last card.

Cooler Master Centurion 5 II
Corsair Vengeance DDR3 8GB 1600mhz
i5 3570k @ 4.2
Arctic Cooler i30
XFX DD 7970 @ stock
Cooler Master GX 650W
Gigabyte GA-Z77-DS3H

Any advice? Surely these temps are far too high for stock?

Yes that is worthy of a RMA, you have the XFX Double Disipation series which is mean't to keep everything VERY cool, My XFX R7850 Core Edition Which is pretty much Double Disiptation but just one fan obviously never gets past 75 degrees.

firstly make sureyour gpu fan is spinning.
how warm did your last gpu went?
if it was less warmer than your current card it means that your current card is worth an RMA

The fan on auto mode goes to 55% and it definitely is spinning.

The last card during gameplay pretty much maxed out at 78c roughly.

If I keep the fans at a constant 100%, it'll hit the 80c+ mark.

dont run the fans at 100% it will damage the fan.
