Hi there

I have save some money to buy my new 17" TFT, but now is the hard decission, WHICH ONE??

I've seen some of then and I tried those below

BenQ FP767-12
1280 x 1024 Pixels - Dot Pitch 0.264
Contrast Ratio 500:1
300 cd/m
24-Bit
12ms

Benq FP783
1280 x 1024 Pixels - Dot Pitch ??
Contrast Ratio 500:1
300 cd/m
24-Bit
12ms

LG L1710B
Dot Pitch 0.26
Contrast Ratio 450:1
250 cd/m
24-Bit
DVI

Philips 170S4FG
Contrast Ratio 400:1
Dot Pitch 0.26
260 cd/m
24-Bit
25 ms

All of them between 360 - 420 euros (i am from spain but is almost the same in US$$)

I have several doubts about all of it

1. which brand?? benq is a quite new trade mark, philips & LG make me feel more confortable, what do you think abou??

2. All of them are 24 bits color and not real color , I have read in other communities that if you are interested on CAD you have to forget about 24 bits, but if not?? there are almos 200 euros between this ones and some other similar but with true color

3. Finally the DVI, you think it really matter??

I would not mind consider some other screen if you tell me about them

Anyway thank you in advance for your comments

regards

Well the BenQ monitors seemed to do pretty well in the reviews here at THG. Here are a couple of links:

FP767-12:
http://graphics.tomshardware.com/display/20040413/index.html

FP783:
http://graphics.tomshardware.com/display/20040609/index.html

And what are you looking to do with them the most? If you're looking at gaming, it seems like THG recommends LCDs based on Hydis panels the most for those. I'm looking at the Acer AL1731 right now, but I can't seem to find any reviews on it. Samsung's 172X also seems pretty good.

-MB out.
