ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:

Hi guys, my current card is on the way out and I'm looking for an upgrade.
Looking to spend no more then £100 and want best value for money.
Currently I've had a look around and have my eyes on these:

- EVGA 1GB GeForce GTS 450 SuperClocked DDR5 NVIDEO GFX Card (£83.34)
http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1gb-evga-gts-450-sc-40nm...
- MSI HD 7770 1GB (£89.72)
http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1gb-msi-radeon-hd-7770-4...

Perhaps even a GTX650, but it runs on PCI 3.0. Will this be backward compatible with my PCI 2.0 MOBO slot?

- EVGA GeForce GTX 650 NVIDIA Graphics Card - 1GB (£87.18)
http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1gb-evga-gtx-650-28nm-pc...

Only problem is the 7770 doesn't have my required amount of output ports.

If anyone could point me in the right direction I'd be grateful.

Pretty sure the GTS 450 is my best option right now..

Missed that gtx650ti in your last post. That 2GB 7850 would be 145 once you factor in delivery. If you read Tom's November 2012 graphics card buyer's guide, you will see on the last page that the hd7850 is a few steps above the gtx650ti on the graphics card hierarchy chart. you can future proof some by spending an extra 5 quid on the 2GB 7850, but you loose out on most of those games(not a big deal if you already have or don't want, but you might be able to get some money back by selling the licenses).

When I wrote "same card", I was referring to the 1GB 7850 the OP linked up the thread a bit. The same one you just put down at scan for 126 after VAT but before delivery. I guess overall that 2GB card might cost even more if it doesn't include an adapter(which according to dabs it does not include). Dabs has the 2GB 7850 for 139.99 inc VAT and 1.99 delivery(141.98) and 2 free games(dirt showdown and sleeping dogs). Here's the link:

It has delivery costs the scan.co.uk ? cause i don't know, i though it was free shipping.
But the point is getting a 7850 will be the best choice.

+1 @ 7850

Thanks guys, I do get free delivery at Scan but the card isn't in stock and doesn't come with DIRT and SLEEPING DOGS.

Pretty set on that (XFX 2GB 7850), only concern I have left is the interfaces:

"DVI-I (dual link) ( HDCP ) , DVI-D (Single-Link) ( HDCP ) , HDMI , 2 x Mini DisplayPort ( Mini DispayPort )"

Whats the difference between DVI-I and DVI-D? I'll be able to use both my monitors right? I already have a VGA>DVI adapter.

Here are 3 more hd7850s at dabs. All include 2 dvi ports, a dvi to vga adapter, and sleeping dogs. All cost 1.99 extra for delivery.

vtx3d 1GB for 124.99 inc VAT(don't know much about this manufacturer):

Sapphire 1GB with dual fan cooler for 136.71 inc VAT(better brand, but maybe better overclocking potential too?):

vtx3d 2GB for 139.99 inc VAT(same cooler as the vtx3d above):

I gotta be more on the ball about refreshing the thread before posting.

According to wikipedia, there are 3 basic dvi connectors: dvi-a(analog), dvi-d(digitial) and dvi-i(integrated, includes both digital and analog).

since the vga dsub 15pin connector is analog, you will want to use the dvi-i port with your adapter and the dvi-d port for the dvi monitor.

Dual link and single link has to do with the amount of internal bandwidth. Single link is enough for a 1080p-ish panel, but dual link is required if you have a higher res panel like 2560x1440 or 2560x1600. I somehow missed that bit in your last post.

I see, many thanks, rep/liked your post. :)

Also for the extra ~£10 I might aswell go with the 2GB XFX you originally linked.
