I'd pay a bit extra and get the AMD HD7850
I know you want Nvidia, but I don't think there's a Nvidia as good a deal as the 7800 and 7700 GPUs in performance/buck value, not until AMD release the HD8k cards......which probably is before Nvidia release the lower end GT600s.

As for CPU, you can get this Ivy Bridge i5 for about that price
Core i5-3330 Quad Core

You do have a motherboard right?......

Thanks :)

What motherboard could you recommend? (Im starting from scratch but trying to get a graphics card sorted first as Im so unsure).

7850, the best choice for now.

If you would wait, you can also wait for the 660/650 Ti, but we are not sure how much it will be priced and will it fit your budget or not.

As for the motherboard, I would go with an Asrock Z77. You can also go for the P8Z77 ASUS motherboard too.

Any of these would be a great choice mobo:ASUS P8Z77-V PRO LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Personally, from my market here in Malaysia, I'd get an Asrock Z77 Extreme 3 or MSI Z77A-G45 or GD55
but honestly, just get any z77 motherboard from reputable brands like MSI, Asus, Gigabyte, Asrock.

Don't touch ECS though :pt1cable:
My motto: Avoid buying motherboards cheaper than it's Intel branded brothers, NEVER buy those significantly cheaper.

you said nvidia card so gtx560 is good choice at that price.. and good intel processor would be the i5-2500k and mobo would be msi new range of z77 mobos which are OC certified

Thanks. seems the HD7850 is sounding good. Longer i spemd surfing round the forum the more I questions which to go for :p

Whats this like - http://www.ebuyer.com/287105-evga-gtx-560-superclocked-1gb-gddr5-dvi-hdmi-pci-e-graphics-card-01g-p3-1463-kr
that is a decent card again not as good as 7850 but it's good enough to game decently don't expect to much though i say most likely mid settings on most current games. ;)

Forget about that GTX560 and get this XFX HD7850 for only 143 quids, only 9 bucks more....more than 15% more performance :p
(I think, assuming the 6950 is 10% faster than the 560 non Ti and the 7850 is roughly 2-10% faster than the 6950 )

as for motherboard try this Asrock Z77Extreme 4 only 100 pounds :)
