Hi everyone!

I'm looking for a cheap video card between £50 to £100 that can play the old classic games (Civ 4, Medieval/Empire Total War, Company of Heroes etc.) + DAYZ on high/max, and new games just on Med -- resolutions I would like to be on 1920s but I can do say 1600s or lower (so long as I can enjoy my games :D)

I NEED IT TO BE QUIT (I can’t have a video card which is louder than a jet engine when under load)

Can it a reliable video card? I had a HIS 6850 Turbo and it gave me constant issues. Not even purchasing a new PSU fixed it, not even turning down the factory clock settings etc. did it.

SPECS:
Asus M5A78L-M LX Bios 801
AMD 960T Black Edition 3.0GHz - STOCK CLOCKS
NVIDIA GeForce GT430
2x Kingston 4GB DDR3 1333MHz Memory Module Non-ECC CL9 1.5V
OCZ ZS Series 550W 80 Plus Bronze
HANNS-G HH221DP
Seagate 500GB 3.5" SATA-III 6Gb/s Barracuda Hard Drive 7200RPM
**I do have PCI slots free if the video card takes up more than one.

I don't really want to spend so much as I game here and there sort of thing.

Thanks for reading my post and thank you so much for replying!

If you guys can convince to spend tiny bit more in which will stay future proof for the new games please tempt me!

Danny

PS. do you think the video card you will suggest will be able to handle the upcoming ROME TOTAL WAR 2!!!!!!!!!

Ah I was looking at that, do you think my one will stay cooler and more quit. I don;t know XFX, is it reliable or will I get random reboots every 5 minutes?

Thanks for the reply!

Well, the one I linked is clocked higher = will perform better. You shouldn't have problems with the card. I'm pretty sure all you had to do to get HD 6850 fixed was to call the warranty service..

I got a refund, they said it was faulty and said "would you like to exchange" I said no :)

This one is a tiny bit faster than the one you put on.

It wants a 450W, you think I have enough W left to power it? I have no clue:(

The 6850 is faster than this right, I found it for £90 by XFX but some people complain it gets loud, so I want something that cna keep cool.

Had a lok at benchmakrs and the 7770 is greener option and I don't mind playing with 1600 res below.

So it looks like I'll be getting a 7770HD tomorrow!
