hi, i'm looking at buying a 19" monitor, but i'm not sure which would be the best to get.

i want to get one with a black case (to match my computer case)

the only ones available where i live are:
1. IBM ThinkVision C190
2. philips 109F56
3. Mitsubishi 1998FDB

i'm really not sure which monitor would be the best, and would like to know other peoples experiences.

thanks

EDIT:
i've also found that i can get a ViewSonic P95f+B this one any good?
Edited by cneale on 11/08/03 02:56 AM.

ok, i've looked through all the previous posts, seems as though the ViewSonic p95f+ is a bad choice.

someone must know something about the other 3?

My preference is for the Mitsubishi. You didnt mention a price range, but what are you wanting to spend on this? The NEC FP912SB-BK is arguably the best 19" monitor on the market right now. (NEC and Mitsubishi are the same company, they use *exactly* the same tubes in their monitors.)

the ibm monitor is $429, the mitsubishi one is around $400, so i dont want to spend more than about $500 (prices in australian dollars, since thats where i live)

i'm not sure the price range will help, since i assume most people here are from the US.

You're probably right about the price thing. But my recommendation stands. I've included a link to the monitor information below. It sells for around $310 US.
