Whats the best graphics card around £100

been searching ebay for weeks finally got a 280gtx at a reasonable price try it and it wont work most other cards are going way higher than im willing to pay what is the best gfx card new around £100 my system specs are
Foxconn A76ML-K AM3 Ready / AM2+ / AM2 AMD 760G Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
amd phenom 2 x4 850 3.30ghz
4gb cheap ddr3 ram
OCZ ModXStream Pro 500W Modular High Performance Power Supply
mainly for playing battlefield 3 but also would like it to be real quite so i can turn the system into a media center in a few years when i buy a whole new system also a short card would be a benifit as my current 8800gtx wich is now faulty covers 2 of the sata ports

You won't find many single slot cards or short or quiet cards for games.

A Radeon 7750 is pretty quiet and small.

A nVidia 560 is faster, as quiet but larger and a bit more expensive.

Anything over that goes well over your price range and other wants.

I think the best option is the 7770. You have PCI-e power connectors so that isn't an issue and most PCBs are as short as the 7750. A 5770/6770 wouldn't also be bad. You might be able to still find some cheep short 460's floating around.

Golly, I think the 6850 prolly takes less juice than the 8800 GTX! Yeah, the performance jump between the lines is pretty stark and that 6850 looks like a good deal especially if it is shorter than your current card.

got lucky won a few hundred dollars on poker and whent for the 560ti twin frozr got the 280 going but it overheats massivly on battlefield 3 auto settings

Did you get a used or refurbished 560? If it's new and crashing, get a replacement. Unless your case is cramped and/or does not have enough fans.
