Can anyone shed any light on the a GAming GPU with a £200 budget? A
I've been reading the May 2012 best GPu gaming review and don't understand why Tom referes to the 6950 as being "Missing in Action" and therefore apparantly not the best GPU for the ~£170 range. I don't understand why.
PPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: When 3rd Generation intel core are released (next month or so) BUDGET RANGE: £200 max
USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Gaming (Most RPG/MMORPG games, e.g. In order of play-time useage, Guild Wars 2, Diablo, Skyrim, WoW)
CURRENT GPU AND POWER SUPPLY: (e.g., ATI Radeon HD 4850 and Corsair 750TX 750W PSU - without this info, it's really hard to help you)
OTHER RELEVANT SYSTEM SPECS: OC'ed i5 2500k CPU (~4.8Ghz?), 8 GB RAM, Z68 chipset, water cooled (CPU only, possibly will upgrade to GPU watercooled)
PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS:Any UK website (amazon, overclockers, ebuyer, scan, etc) COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: UK
Sorry i'm not very clear, im' waiting for the new 3rd core to come out which will cause the 2500k to drop in price, then i will buy it. The rig is brand new except i'm using my old OCZ 600W psu.
Thankyou for the responses guys <3
A heads up i RARELY buy from Overclockers.co.uk, i've been following there price tags on identical components across amazon, scan, ebuyer and overclockers. Overclockers most of the time sell at premium prices compared to the other sites, sometimes you can strike gold when the particular item that your after turns up on their weekly offer list, but then ask your self is it still worth it after postage costs?
