1600x1200@85hz ..FLAT..suggestions??

What are your suggestions for a 19" monitor that will do 1600x1200 @ 85hz ?? It must be a flat screen because my eyes need all the help they can get, and I hate glare. Are the new flat-ShadowMasks that are being introduced pretty decent gear??

Well, the NEC FE950+ is pretty good. It does 1600 x 1200 @ 55 to 76 Hz. Not 85Hz, but it's a great monitor.

Samsung 955df DynaFlat goes up to 1600x1200@69 and HAS AWESOME pitch(0.20 horiznatl and 0.24 diagnal) and exellent graphics! I just recieved mine today and it just rocks! You can find one on www.pricewatch.com for only $270!!

Cornerstone p1460, 110Khz, 1600 x 120 at 85Hz uses the Hitachi Ergo Flat invar shadow mask CRT

The NEC FE950+ is a 96Khz monitor, it is not cabable of 1600 x 1200 at 85Hz.

The Samsung 955DF is an 85Khz monitor again not capable of 1600 x 1200 at 85Hz.

You need a monitor with at least 107Khz horizontal scan frequency to support 1600 x 1200 at 85Hz.

Sony G400 - 16x12 @ 85Hz, aperture grill

I have the E400, it'll only do 75Hz at that resolution, but I keep it at 1280x1024 @ 85 Hz.

The picture quality and color depth are phenominal on these monitors
Highly recommended!

I recently bought a Samsung 900NF and it will do 1600X1200 at 89 Hz. I usually run it in 1280X1024 at 109 Hz... It uses a Mitsubishi diamondtron NF tube (very similar to the trinitron i believe). The quoted stripe pitch is .25. I'm quite happy with it and the text in windows is readable at 1600X1200 although it is quite small. I paid $400 at outpost.com. I also considered the Sony mentioned above but since I couldn't look at either before I bought one, I decided to try the cheaper one first and I haven't had any reason to switch.

I have the SONY CPD-G400. It can do 1600X1200 @ 85Hz but I use it at 1280X1024 @ 85Hz. I liked it a lot. It might be more expensive than other monitor but monitor is the component that last the longest. I think it is worth to spend more on a good monitor.
