€Display driver has stopped working and has recovered

I had the same problem as you. I would be doing something, and then the screen would go black, and it would come up later in a few seconds saying "AMD display driver has stopped responding or something like that". I thought it would be a good idea to use my old Nvidia 8800GT (R.I.P) and see if the problem persisted, and it did. I tried everything and anything to get it to work.

When I thought I had tested everything, I noticed one thing I had not. The RAM. I didn't check the RAM because I had assumed it had nothing to do with the graphics. I took out two of my sticks (I had 4) and tada! It works no problem now. One of the RAM sticks was bad to my understanding.

I would try the RAM again. Just thought I would put in my 2 cents there.

once oyur ram clears memtest, ur fine, sometimes when alot of adware is bogging down your system, or if the boot hdd has less than 20%free space it will lock up from time to time, also if you do any overclocking, you might want to try applying stock settings to the gpu core and memory, even if the card came overclocked from the manufacturer, try anyway

Have you uninstalled drivers, restarted, restart again, run driver sweeper in safe mode (has to be in safe mode) then install the drivers again?

also if there are any Nvidia or AMD "display" entries, delete those to.
